Handmade Wedding Invitations for the Non-Creative Mind

Some people are blessed with endless creativity and an ability to see past even the dullest of subject matters to add artistic flair to anything. For others, this doesn't come so naturally and when planning a wedding, this can often seem like an obstacle. There are plenty of creative hurdles to overcome when it comes to preparing for every facet of your wedding and this tends to start with the invitations. If you are finding that creativity is in short supply but you are loathed to pay someone else to design luxury invitations, this article has been written with you in mind.

Bulk Buy Plain Cards

Make it easy on yourself and bulk buy pre-cut plain cards. If you don't yet know what colours will feature on your big day, stick to a natural shade such as white, cream or even brown. Brown recycled card is a huge trend right now and you can find pre-cut invitations ready for you to customise. Blank cards with envelopes can be bought in bulk for around £10 so not only is it easy, it's also budget friendly.

Stamp it Out

Unless you are proficient in the art of calligraphy, the chances are you don't want to hand write your invitations, particularly on mass. Make life easy by ordering a custom rubber stamp with the essential details. You can even upload an image and have a stamp created from that.

Create Interest with Motif Punches

To give your invitations a little bit of extra detail, try one of the many design punches available from pretty much every craft shop around. From heart borders to champagne glasses you can create a professional finish for the sake of paying a few quid for a fancy hole punch! Top Tip: Create the cut out detail before stamping your details in the card to make sure you don't cut out any of the wording by accident! Make sure the stamp will fit after you've punched out the details.

Easy Embellishments

wedding buttons

A trend we've seen emerge in recent times is adding a single button to a wedding invitation. The great thing about this is it adds interest in a very cost effective manner. You can bulk buy buttons from a haberdashery and you can get the glue needed for them at the same time in most cases. We love this handmade offering complete with brown string for a rustic theme. You don't have to be a creative genius to create seriously gorgeous and professional looking invitations. By setting aside a little time in the evenings and weekends, you can put together awesome invites that are completely unique to you.
